Homemade nougat desserts

Full Recipe:

– Almonds | 100 g (0.8 cup/3.5 oz)

– Walnuts | 80 g (0.8 cup/2.8 oz)

– Egg white | 1

– Sugar | 125 g (0.7 cup/4.4 oz)

– Honey | 125 g (0.4 cup/4.4 oz)

– Raisins | 100 g (0.6 cup/3.5 oz)

  • Directions:

1. Begin by toasting the almonds and walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until they become fragrant and slightly golden. Let them cool before chopping them into smaller pieces.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy. Add in the sugar and honey, and continue to whisk until well combined.

3. Fold in the chopped almonds, walnuts, and raisins into the egg white mixture until everything is evenly coated.

4. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and pour the nougat mixture into it, spreading and pressing it down evenly.

5. Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the nougat has set completely.

6. Once set, remove the nougat from the baking dish and cut it into squares or bars as desired.
