Keto Spicy Steak

Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

For the Spicy Marinade:

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos for keto-friendly option)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For Garnish:

  • Fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade:
    In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, soy sauce, lemon juice, and olive oil. Stir until smooth.
  2. Marinate the Steak:
    Rub the marinade all over the steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and let the steaks marinate for 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge).
  3. Cook the Steaks:
    • Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
    • Cook the steaks for about 3-5 minutes per side (depending on thickness) for medium-rare, or adjust to your preferred doneness.
    • Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  4. Garnish and Serve:
    Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and serve with lemon wedges for an extra zing. Pair with keto sides like cauliflower mash or sautéed greens.
