Vegan Avocado Flat Bread
Vegan Avocado Flat Bread
Ingredients:
For the Flatbread:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or a gluten-free flour blend)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
- For Topping (Optional):
- Cherry tomatoes, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Olive oil for drizzling
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Instructions:
- 1. Prepare the Avocado Dough:
- In a bowl, mash the ripe avocados until smooth. Mix gluten-free flour blend, baking powder, salt, and lemon juice into the dough. Combine well.
- 2. Form a Dough:
- Add warm water little by little to the mix until a soft dough forms. For a few minutes, knead the dough until it gets smooth and springy.
- 3. Rest the Dough:
- Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
- 4. Preheat the Oven:
- Warm the oven up to 200°C (400°F).
- 5. Divide and Roll Out:
- Split the dough into four equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a thin, flat round on a floured surface.
- 6. Bake:
- Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- 7. Optional Toppings:
- If desired, top the baked flatbreads with sliced cherry tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, a drizzle of olive oil, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- 8. Serve and Enjoy:
- Slice the flatbreads and serve them warm. Enjoy the Vegan Avocado Flatbread on its own, as a side, or as a base for your favorite plant-based creations
