Savory Sour Cream Delight: Bacon Ranch Dip
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix (or 2 tablespoons of homemade ranch seasoning)
- 6 strips of crispy bacon, crumbled
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- A pinch of black pepper
- A squeeze of lemon juice (optional, for a slight tang)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Base:
- In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix. Stir until smooth and well blended.
- Add Seasoning:
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Mix in Bacon and Cheese:
- Fold in the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped chives/green onions. Reserve a little bacon and chives for garnish.
- Optional Lemon Tang:
- Add a small squeeze of lemon juice to enhance the flavor with a slight tangy note (optional).
- Chill:
- Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld together.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Before serving, garnish with the reserved bacon, chives, and a little extra shredded cheese.
