Savory Sour Cream Delight: Bacon Ranch Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (or 2 tablespoons of homemade ranch seasoning)
  • 6 strips of crispy bacon, crumbled
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A squeeze of lemon juice (optional, for a slight tang)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  2. Add Seasoning:
    • Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  3. Mix in Bacon and Cheese:
    • Fold in the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped chives/green onions. Reserve a little bacon and chives for garnish.
  4. Optional Lemon Tang:
    • Add a small squeeze of lemon juice to enhance the flavor with a slight tangy note (optional).
  5. Chill:
    • Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld together.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Before serving, garnish with the reserved bacon, chives, and a little extra shredded cheese.

Serving Ideas:

  • Serve with your choice of chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables like carrots, celery, and bell pepper strips.
