Perfectly Crispy Air Fryer Carrots and Parsnips
Ingredients:
- 3 large carrots
- 3 large parsnips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Vegetables:
- Peel the carrots and parsnips.
- Cut them into evenly sized sticks or chunks, about 2-3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
- Season the Vegetables:
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the carrot and parsnip sticks to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Air Fry the Vegetables:
- Place the seasoned carrot and parsnip sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd; you may need to cook in batches.
- Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the vegetables halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crisping.
- Check for doneness; they should be golden brown and crispy on the outside but tender on the inside.
- Serve:
- Once cooked, transfer the crispy carrots and parsnips to a serving platter.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
- Serve immediately as a side dish or snack.
