Old Fashioned Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dry ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Combine wet ingredients:
    • Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the milk, egg, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  3. Heat the griddle:
    • Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the pancakes:
    • Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Tips:

  • For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for a few minutes before cooking.
  • Add-ins like blueberries, chocolate chips, or sliced bananas can be added to the batter for extra flavor.
  • Serve with maple syrup, butter, fresh berries, or any toppings you prefer.
