π§ Nun Farts (Pets de Nonne) Recipe
β¨ Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
- 2 tbsp (30 g) unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup (60 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- Powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, for dusting
π©βπ³ Instructions:
1. Make the Choux Dough:
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil.
- Once butter is melted, add the flour all at once.
- Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon over low heat until the dough pulls away from the sides and forms a ball (about 1β2 minutes).
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
2. Add Eggs:
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each (you can use a mixer or just elbow grease).
- Mix until smooth and glossy. Add vanilla extract if using.
3. Heat Oil:
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Use a small spoon or scoop to drop small blobs of dough (about 1 tsp each) into the hot oil. Donβt overcrowd.
4. Fry Until Golden:
- Fry 3β4 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- They may flip on their own, or you can turn them for even cooking.
5. Drain and Dust:
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar or toss in cinnamon sugar while warm.
