No bake apple pie
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the Filling:
- 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (use a sweet variety like Honeycrisp or Fuji)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Topping:
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions:
For the Crust:
- In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish, forming an even crust. You can use the back of a spoon or your hands to pack it down.
- Place the crust in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling.
For the Filling:
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated.
- Arrange the apple mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust.
To Assemble:
- Refrigerate the no-bake apple pie for at least 2 hours or until it’s set.
- Before serving, you can add a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
