No-Bake 3-Ingredient Milk Pudding Dessert!
Ingredients
- 4 cups whole milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- Optional: Vanilla extract, cinnamon, or nutmeg for flavoring
- Toppings (optional): Fresh berries, caramel sauce, chocolate shavings, toasted nuts, or whipped cream
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
- Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl and whisk them until smooth.
- Gradually add the sugar to the eggs, whisking continuously until fully dissolved and the mixture is pale yellow.
Step 2: Heat the Milk
- Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat it over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling (about 170°F/75°C). Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
- Optional: Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a pinch of cinnamon, or nutmeg to the milk for extra flavor.
Step 3: Temper the Eggs
- Slowly pour about 1 cup of the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from curdling.
- Once combined, pour the tempered egg mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining milk.
Step 4: Cook the Pudding
- Cook the mixture over low heat , stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or spatula, until it thickens enough to coat the back of the spoon (about 10–15 minutes). Do not let it boil.
- The pudding is ready when it reaches 160°F–170°F (71°C–77°C) on a thermometer or when it thickly drips off the spoon.
Step 5: Chill the Pudding
- Remove the pudding from the heat and strain it through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl to ensure a silky-smooth texture.
- Cover the surface of the pudding with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming, pressing the wrap directly onto the pudding.
- Refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours , or until completely chilled and set.
Step 6: Serve and Customize
- Spoon the pudding into serving bowls or glasses.
- Add your favorite toppings, such as fresh berries, caramel drizzle, chocolate shavings, or whipped cream, if desired.
