Napoleon Dessert Recipe – A Delight
Ingredients:
For the dough: 120 g cold butter, 180 g wheat flour, 1.5 tablespoons sugar, 1 pinch of salt
For the cream: 300 ml milk, 60 g sugar, 2 egg yolks, 2 tablespoons wheat flour, 30 g butter
Preparation method:
Preparing the dough:
In a deep bowl, mix the wheat flour, salt, and sugar.
Grate the cold butter using a grater and add it to the bowl, over the flour mixture.
Knead the ingredients well until you get a texture similar to crumbs or “sand.”
Toasting the crumbs:
Place the mixture in a frying pan and fry over low heat, stirring constantly, until golden brown. This process takes about 8-10 minutes.
Let the crumbs cool completely.
Preparing the cream:
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, mix the sugar with the egg yolks using a whisk.
Pour the milk over the egg and sugar mixture, beating gently.
Add the wheat flour and mix until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
Place the saucepan over low heat and cook the mixture, stirring continuously, until the cream thickens (about 6-10 minutes).
When the cream is thick enough, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the butter, stirring until it melts completely.
Let the cream cool to room temperature.
Assembling the dessert:
Start with a layer of 2 tablespoons of toasted crumbs in the bottom of glasses or serving trays.
Add a layer of 2 tablespoons of cream on top.
Continue alternating layers of crumbs and cream until the cups or trays are full.
Place the dessert in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to firm up.
Remove the dessert from the refrigerator and decorate it as desired before serving.
Enjoy your meal!
