Keto Philly Cheese Steak egg roll
Ingredients
For the Keto Wrapper:
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
For the Filling:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
- 1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese or cheese of your choice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
For Frying:
- Coconut oil or olive oil, for frying

Instructions
1. Make the Keto Wrapper:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Microwave on high for about 1 minute, then stir until smooth. If the cheese isn’t fully melted, microwave in additional 30-second intervals until completely melted and combined.
- Stir in the almond flour, baking powder, and egg until the dough comes together.
- Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out into a thin rectangle, about 1/8-inch thick.
- Cut the dough into squares, about 4×4 inches.
2. Prepare the Filling:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced steak to the skillet and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and bell peppers (if using). Cook until they are soft and caramelized.
- Return the steak to the skillet with the onions and peppers. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted and combined.
3. Assemble the Egg Rolls:
- Place a heaping tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough square.
- Fold the sides of the dough over the filling and then roll it up tightly, sealing the edges by pinching the dough together. If needed, you can use a little water to help seal the edges.
- Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
4. Cook the Egg Rolls:
- Heat coconut oil or olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the egg rolls in batches, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Place the cooked egg rolls on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
5. Serve:
- Serve the keto Philly cheese steak egg rolls warm with a side of keto-friendly dipping sauce if desired (such as a low-carb ranch or blue cheese dressing).
