Keto Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers

Ingredients (Makes 4 Burgers):
For the cabbage “buns”:
- 1 medium head of green cabbage
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste
For the burger patties:
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce or Dijon mustard
Other add-ins:
- 4 slices cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- Sugar-free ketchup or mustard
- Pickles, onions, lettuce, etc. (optional, for topping)
🔥 Instructions:
1. Prep the cabbage “buns”:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice cabbage into thick rounds (about ¾–1 inch thick). You should get 4–6 slices from the center.
- Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until browned and tender but still holding shape.
2. Make the patties:
- Mix ground meat with seasonings.
- Form into 4 equal patties.
- Place on another lined baking sheet and bake in the same oven for about 15–18 minutes or until cooked through.
- Add a slice of cheese to each patty during the last 2 minutes of baking to melt.
3. Assemble the burgers:
- Use two cabbage rounds per burger — one as the base, one on top.
- Add the cheesy patty and any toppings or sauces in between.
🥬 Serving Ideas:
- Serve with a side of keto slaw or cauliflower fries
- Drizzle with garlic aioli or avocado mayo for extra flavor
- You can also make a cabbage “wrap” version by using only one large cabbage leaf per burger
