1 tbsp ground flaxseed or chia seeds (optional for added fiber and texture)
1/2 tsp sea salt (plus extra for sprinkling on top)
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)
1 tbsp olive oil or melted coconut oil
1 large egg
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, ground flaxseed (if using), salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Add Wet Ingredients: Add olive oil and the egg. Stir until the mixture forms a dough. If the dough feels sticky, let it rest for a few minutes.
Roll Out the Dough: Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper. Use a rolling pin to roll it out to about 1/8 inch thick. Remove the top parchment layer.
Cut Into Crackers: Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into small squares. Sprinkle a bit of extra sea salt on top for extra flavor, if desired.
Bake: Carefully transfer the parchment paper with the dough onto a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.
Cool and Enjoy: Let the crackers cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking them apart. They will become crispier as they cool.
Tips:
Storage: Store the crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Flavor Variations: Add herbs like rosemary or thyme, or sprinkle some sesame or poppy seeds on top for added texture.
