KETO CABBAGE CASSEROLE
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small head cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for cooking
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Cabbage:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- Stir in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
- Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes until slightly thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Assemble the Casserole:
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the shredded cabbage.
- Pour half of the beef mixture over the cabbage layer.
- Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Repeat with another layer of cabbage, beef mixture, and cheese.
- Bake the Casserole:
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the casserole is bubbly.
- If you prefer a crispy top, uncover the casserole for the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Serve:
