.
Ingredients:
For the wings:
2 pounds chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda) — helps make wings crispy
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
For the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional but adds great flavor)
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon melted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions:
Prep the wings for crispiness:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels (very important for crispy skin).
In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well coated.
Bake the wings:
Place a wire rack over a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
Arrange wings in a single layer on the rack, leaving space between each wing.
Bake for about 40-50 minutes, flipping halfway through. Wings should be crispy and golden brown.
Make the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, cracked black pepper, salt, melted butter, and garlic powder until smooth.
Toss wings in the sauce:
When wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl.
Pour the honey lemon pepper sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
Serve:
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces (ranch or blue cheese work great).
Garnish with extra lemon zest or cracked pepper if you want!
