Homemade Bread in Air Fryer
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ¾ cup warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for greasing)
Instructions:
- Activate Yeast:
- In a small bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise:
- Grease a large bowl with olive oil, place the dough in it, and cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap.
- Let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Dough:
- Punch down the dough to release air. Shape it into a loaf or desired form to fit your air fryer basket.
- Second Rise:
- Place the shaped dough on a piece of parchment paper inside the air fryer basket. Cover lightly and let it rise for 20-30 minutes.
- Bake in Air Fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Brush the top of the dough with olive oil for a golden crust.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking halfway through. The bread is ready when it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Cool and Serve:
- Remove the bread from the air fryer and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
