Home Made Strawberry Crisp
Ingredients
For the filling:
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping:
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until the strawberries are evenly coated. Pour the strawberry mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Make the topping: In a separate bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour the melted butter over the mixture and stir until well combined and crumbly.
- Assemble the crisp: Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the strawberry filling.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the strawberry filling is bubbling.
- Cool and serve: Allow the strawberry crisp to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy it warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
