Ground Beef And Peppers Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 or leaner, as preferred)
  • 1 large bell pepper (any color), diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional for spice)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet
    • Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil.
  2. Cook the ground beef
    • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add onions and garlic
    • Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add bell peppers and seasonings
    • Toss in the diced bell peppers. Sprinkle with smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder (if using), black pepper, and salt.
  5. Simmer with beef broth
    • Pour in the beef broth, stir well, and simmer for 5–7 minutes until the peppers are tender and the flavors are combined.
  6. Optional: Add cheese
    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the skillet and let it melt for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Serve and garnish
    • Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley or green onions, and serve hot.
