Grilled Ribeye steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 Ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Optional: Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or other seasonings of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling. This allows them to cook more evenly.
  2. Preheat your grill to high heat. If using a gas grill, preheat with the lid closed for about 10-15 minutes. If using charcoal, make sure the coals are hot and covered with a layer of white ash.
  3. While the grill is heating up, season the ribeye steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides. You can also add other seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika for extra flavor.
  4. Lightly brush both sides of the steaks with olive oil to prevent sticking and help them achieve a nice sear on the grill.
  5. Once the grill is hot, place the ribeye steaks directly over the heat. For medium-rare steaks, grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, flipping only once. Adjust the cooking time according to your desired level of doneness and the thickness of the steaks.
  6. Avoid pressing down on the steaks with a spatula while they’re cooking, as this can cause the juices to escape and result in a drier steak.
  7. Once the steaks are done to your liking, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring a juicy and flavorful steak.
  8. Serve the grilled ribeye steaks hot with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. Enjoy your delicious meal!
