GARLIC AND BUTTER FLATBREAD

Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for brushing)
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- A pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions:
- Make the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add warm water and olive oil to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour, a tablespoon at a time, until you get a soft, smooth dough.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 3-5 minutes, until it becomes elastic and smooth.
- Cover the dough with a damp towel and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.
- Prepare the Garlic Butter:
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with minced garlic. Stir well, then set aside.
- Roll Out the Dough:
- After the dough has rested, divide it into 4 equal portions.
- Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it with your hands or a rolling pin into a round shape about 1/4-inch thick.
- Cook the Flatbread:
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Lightly grease the surface with olive oil.
- Place one piece of dough onto the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown spots appear and it puffs up a bit.
- Repeat with the remaining pieces of dough.
- Add Garlic Butter:
- As soon as the flatbread is cooked, brush each piece with the garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle with chopped parsley (optional) and a pinch of sea salt, if desired.
- Serve:
- Serve the garlic and butter flatbreads warm. They’re great on their own or as a side to dips, curries, or pasta dishes.
Enjoy your flavorful, buttery flatbread!
