Ingredients:
- 1 gammon joint (boneless or bone-in)
- Olive oil or cooking spray
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional glaze (honey, brown sugar, mustard, or other preferred flavors)
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- If your gammon joint is bone-in, you can trim excess fat from the surface, leaving a thin layer for flavor. If it’s boneless, you can skip this step.
- Brush the gammon joint with a thin layer of olive oil or use a cooking spray. This will help it get crispy in the air fryer.
- Season the gammon joint with salt and pepper. You can also add other seasonings or spices of your choice for extra flavor.
- Place the gammon joint in the air fryer basket, making sure it’s not overcrowded. If necessary, you can cut it into smaller portions to fit your air fryer.
- Air fry the gammon joint at 350°F (180°C) for about 20-25 minutes per pound (450g) of meat. This is a general guideline, so the cooking time may vary depending on your specific air fryer and the size of the gammon joint. To ensure it’s cooked through, use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
- If you want to add a glaze, you can do so during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking. Brush the gammon joint with your preferred glaze (e.g., a mixture of honey, brown sugar, and mustard) and allow it to caramelize in the air fryer.
- Once the gammon joint reaches the desired temperature and has a crispy exterior, remove it from the air fryer.
- Let the gammon joint rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a juicy and flavorful result.
- Enjoy your air-fried gammon joint as a main dish, and consider serving it with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
