Gammon joint.. airfryed

Ingredients:

  • Gammon joint (typically around 1-2 pounds)
  • Olive oil (or oil of your choice)
  • Seasonings of your choice (e.g., black pepper, herbs, garlic powder, paprika)
  • Optional: glaze or sauce for extra flavor (e.g., honey and mustard glaze)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350-375°F (175-190°C). The exact temperature and time can vary depending on the size and thickness of your gammon joint, so consult your air fryer’s manual for guidance.
  2. Prepare the Gammon Joint: If your gammon joint is too large to fit in the air fryer basket, you may need to trim it down to size. Pat the gammon joint dry with paper towels. This will help it get crispy in the air fryer.
  3. Season the Gammon: Brush or rub the gammon joint with a small amount of olive oil. This will help it become crispy. Season it with your choice of spices and herbs. Common seasonings include black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, or a combination of your favorites.
  4. Air Fry the Gammon: Place the seasoned gammon joint in the air fryer basket. Make sure there is some space around it for the hot air to circulate. Cook at the preheated temperature for about 20-25 minutes per pound (450-550 grams) of meat. The exact time may vary, so keep an eye on it and use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The gammon is safe to eat when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Optional Glaze: If you want to add a glaze, brush it onto the gammon joint when it’s almost done, about 5-10 minutes before the end of the cooking time. This can be a mixture of honey and mustard, brown sugar and pineapple juice, or any other glaze you prefer. The glaze will caramelize and add extra flavor.
  6. Rest and Serve: Once the gammon joint is cooked to your liking, remove it from the air fryer, cover it with foil, and let it rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and makes for a juicier gammon joint. Slice it and serve with your favorite sides.
