Funnel Cake Bites
Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2/3 cup milk
1 large egg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil, for frying
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a smooth batter forms.
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat. To check if the oil is hot enough, drop a small amount of batter into the oil; if it sizzles and floats to the top, it’s ready.
Using a funnel or a plastic squeeze bottle with a small hole, drizzle the batter into the hot oil in a circular motion to form small, bite-sized funnel cakes.
Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Dust the funnel cake bites generously with powdered sugar while they are still warm.
