fantastic-garlic-flatbreads
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or use almond flour for a keto version)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
- 1/2 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- Fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
- Extra olive oil for cooking
Instructions:
- Prepare the dough:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add olive oil (or melted butter) and warm water, stirring until the dough starts to come together.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Prepare the garlic butter:
- In a small pan, melt butter over low heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley if using. Set aside.
- Shape the flatbreads:
- After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls (about 6-8, depending on the size of your flatbreads).
- Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cook the flatbreads:
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add a little olive oil.
- Place the flatbread in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Garlic butter glaze:
- Once cooked, immediately brush the hot flatbreads with the garlic butter mixture.
- Serve:
- Serve warm with a side of yogurt, hummus, or your favorite dip.
