Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or use almond flour for a keto version)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/2 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • Extra olive oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough:
    • In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Add olive oil (or melted butter) and warm water, stirring until the dough starts to come together.
    • Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic.
    • Cover the dough and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the garlic butter:
    • In a small pan, melt butter over low heat.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
    • Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley if using. Set aside.
  3. Shape the flatbreads:
    • After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls (about 6-8, depending on the size of your flatbreads).
    • Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Cook the flatbreads:
    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add a little olive oil.
    • Place the flatbread in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  5. Garlic butter glaze:
    • Once cooked, immediately brush the hot flatbreads with the garlic butter mixture.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve warm with a side of yogurt, hummus, or your favorite dip.
