Crispy Air Fryer Chickpeas

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 ounces) of chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Seasonings of your choice (e.g., salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, or any other favorite spices)

Instructions:

  1. Start by preheating your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas thoroughly, then pat them dry with paper towels. The drier they are, the crispier they will become.
  3. Place the chickpeas in a mixing bowl and toss them with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil. Make sure they are evenly coated with the oil.
  4. Season the chickpeas with your choice of spices. You can go as simple as just salt and pepper or get creative with a combination of flavors.
  5. Once the chickpeas are well-coated with oil and seasonings, transfer them to the preheated air fryer basket. Spread them out evenly to ensure even cooking.
  6. Cook the chickpeas in the air fryer for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the chickpeas halfway through the cooking time. The exact time may vary depending on your air fryer model, so keep a close eye on them to prevent overcooking. The chickpeas should become crispy and golden brown.
  7. Once the chickpeas are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before enjoying. They’ll become even crispier as they cool.
  8. Store any leftovers in an airtight container to maintain their crispiness.
