Cooking sausage in the air fryer

Ingredients:

  • Sausages of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to the recommended temperature for cooking sausages. This is usually around 350-400°F (175-200°C).
  2. Prepare the Sausages: You can use any type of sausages you prefer, such as pork, chicken, turkey, or plant-based sausages. Make sure they are defrosted if frozen. If the sausages have casings, you can prick them in a few places with a fork to prevent them from bursting during cooking. This step is optional but can help release excess fat from the sausages.
  3. Arrange in the Air Fryer: Place the sausages in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to allow proper air circulation, which ensures even cooking.
  4. Cook the Sausages: Cook the sausages in the preheated air fryer for about 10-15 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. The exact cooking time can vary depending on the thickness and type of sausages, so keep an eye on them.
  5. Check for Doneness: To ensure the sausages are fully cooked, use a meat thermometer to check their internal temperature. Pork sausages should reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C), while poultry sausages should reach 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve: Once the sausages reach the desired internal temperature and have a crispy, golden-brown exterior, remove them from the air fryer. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Optional: Add Extras: If you’d like to add some extra flavor, you can season the sausages with herbs, spices, or even a bit of olive oil before cooking. You can also cook sausages with vegetables or serve them with your favorite condiments…
