cherry turnovers

“These cherry turnovers are like little bites of joy! My kids gobbled them up in seconds and asked for more!”
Ingredients:
1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets)
– 1 cup fresh or canned cherry pie filling
– 1 egg (for egg wash)
– 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
– 1 cup powdered sugar- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2-3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to package instructions and roll them out on a lightly floured surface.
3. Cut each sheet into 4 squares.
4. Place 1-2 tablespoons of cherry filling in the center of each square.
5. Fold the pastry over to make a triangle and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
6. In a small bowl, beat the egg with the tablespoon of milk. Brush this mixture over the tops of the turnovers.
7. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
9. While the turnovers are baking, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 2-3 tablespoons of milk in a bowl to make the glaze. Adjust the milk for desired consistency.
10. Once the turnovers are done and cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over them.Tip: You can sprinkle powdered sugar on top for a pretty finish! Enjoy your delicious cherry
