Cheesy Stuffed Buns
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ¼ cups warm water
For the Filling:
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)

For Topping:
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add the olive oil and warm water. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a bowl, mix the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes.
- Assemble the Buns:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
- Flatten each piece of dough into a small circle. Place a tablespoon of the cheese filling in the center of each circle.
- Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal and form a bun. Place the buns seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the Buns:
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
- Brush the tops of the buns with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve:
- Allow the buns to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, cheesy goodness!
