For Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
    • Add the olive oil and warm water. Mix until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, mix the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Assemble the Buns:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
    • Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
    • Flatten each piece of dough into a small circle. Place a tablespoon of the cheese filling in the center of each circle.
    • Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal and form a bun. Place the buns seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the Buns:
    • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
    • Brush the tops of the buns with the garlic butter mixture.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Serve:
    • Allow the buns to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, cheesy goodness!

Tips:

  • You can experiment with different types of cheese and herbs to suit your taste.
  • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
