BREAD PUDDING.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of cubed bread (stale bread works best)
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Optional: raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or casserole dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Place the cubed bread in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  4. If using, sprinkle raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts over the bread cubes in the baking dish.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring that all the bread is evenly soaked.
  6. Let the bread pudding sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with a drizzle of caramel sauce, whipped cream, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
