Baked Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Salmon:
    • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.
  3. Season the Salmon:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
    • Brush the seasoned mixture over the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Add Lemon Slices:
    • Place lemon slices on top of each salmon fillet. The lemon not only adds flavor but also helps keep the salmon moist.
  5. Bake the Salmon:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Once baked, garnish the salmon with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
    • Serve the baked salmon fillets hot, either as a main course with your favorite side dishes or over a bed of salad.

Feel free to customize the seasoning to your liking. You can add other herbs, such as rosemary or dill, and adjust the salt and pepper according to your taste preferences. Baked salmon is a versatile dish that pairs well with a variety of sides, making it a perfect option for a quick and healthy meal.
