Baked Apple Pie Biscuits
Servings: 8
Ingredients
1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands)
1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
1/4 cup sugar (optional)
1/4 cup melted butter
Directions
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Biscuits: Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit slightly using your fingers or a rolling pin.
Fill with Apple Pie Filling: Place a spoonful of apple pie filling in the center of each flattened biscuit. If the apple chunks are too large, you can chop them up a bit before placing them on the biscuits.
Seal the Biscuits: Fold the edges of the biscuit dough over the apple filling to enclose it completely. Pinch the edges to seal.
Top with Cinnamon Sugar (optional): If you’d like, mix the ground cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the sealed biscuits with melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top.
Bake: Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Serve: Let the biscuits cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm!
Optional: Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and a little milk or vanilla extract for an extra sweet touch.
Variations & Tips
If you have picky eaters, consider using a different fruit like pears or peaches. You can also add a handful of raisins or dried cranberries for extra texture and sweetness. For those who enjoy a bit of crunch, top the biscuits with a sprinkle of granola before baking.
