Air Fryer Sesame Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (plus more for garnish)
- Sliced green onions, for garnish
- Cooking spray or oil for the air fryer basket
Instructions:
- Marinate the Chicken:
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Prepare Coating:
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth. This will be used to coat the chicken.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Remove chicken from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Dip each piece of chicken into the cornstarch mixture until well-coated.
- Air Fry:
- Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking. Place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they’re not touching each other.
- Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
- Finish and Serve:
- Once the chicken is cooked, sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken and gently toss to coat.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired. You can pair it with rice or veggies for a complete meal.
