Ingredients:
- 1 rack of pork ribs (baby back ribs or spare ribs)
- Dry rub or marinade of your choice
- Barbecue sauce (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ribs:
- If your ribs have a membrane on the back (bone side), it’s a good idea to remove it. This membrane can become tough when cooking, so gently slide a knife under the membrane and pull it off.
- Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- Season the Ribs:
- Apply your choice of dry rub or marinade to the ribs. Make sure to season both sides evenly. You can use pre-made rubs or make your own with spices like paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and any other seasonings you prefer. Let the ribs marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Ribs:
- Place the seasoned ribs in the air fryer basket, bone side down. You may need to cut the rack in half to fit it in the basket.
- Cook the ribs for about 20-30 minutes. Cooking times may vary depending on the size and thickness of the ribs, so keep an eye on them. You want the ribs to be cooked until they are tender and have an internal temperature of at least 145°F (63°C). You may need to flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
- Optional BBQ Sauce:
- If you like your ribs with barbecue sauce, you can brush the ribs with your favorite sauce during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking. Be sure not to add it too early, as the sugars in the sauce can burn.
- Rest and Serve:
- After cooking, let the ribs rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Then, slice between the bones to separate the individual ribs.
