Air Fryer Homemade Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Proof the yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. You can add olive oil at this stage for flavor, but it’s optional.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and mix until you have a dough.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. You can do this by hand on a floured surface or with a stand mixer using a dough hook.
  5. Shape the dough into a loaf or rolls.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes.
  7. Place the shaped dough in the air fryer basket. You might need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  8. Air fry the bread at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes, flipping it halfway through the cooking time. Cooking times can vary depending on your specific air fryer, so keep an eye on the bread to prevent overcooking. The bread should be golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
  9. Once the bread is done, remove it from the air fryer and let it cool on a wire rack.
