Air Fryer Crab Cakes Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) lump crab meat (picked over for shells)
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (divided)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or oil
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Gently fold in the crab meat and 1/2 cup of panko breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined to avoid breaking the crab meat too much.
- Form Crab Cakes:
- Shape the mixture into 8 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Coat the outside of each patty with the remaining 1/2 cup of panko breadcrumbs.
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the Crab Cakes:
- Lightly spray the crab cakes with cooking spray or oil on both sides.
- Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to cook in batches).
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve:
- Serve hot with tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or your favorite dipping sauce.
