Air fryer chicken breast recipe

ngredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick better and ensures a crispy exterior.
  3. Season the Chicken: In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, then sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly on both sides of the chicken.
  4. Air Fry the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching. Cook for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices and keeps the chicken moist.
  6. Optional Garnish: You can garnish with freshly chopped parsley or a squeeze of lemon juice for added flavor.

Tips:

  • For even cooking, make sure the chicken breasts are of similar size and thickness.
  • If the chicken breasts are particularly thick, you can pound them to an even thickness before cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches the proper internal temperature.
