Air Fryer Chicken Breast

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for added flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Start by preheating your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. While the air fryer is preheating, prepare the chicken breasts. If they’re very thick, you may want to butterfly them or cut them in half horizontally to ensure even cooking. You can also pound them slightly to make them of uniform thickness.
  3. Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil on both sides. This will help them get crispy in the air fryer and prevent sticking.
  4. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika. You can adjust the seasonings to your taste and even add your favorite spices or herbs.
  5. Place the chicken breasts in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer. Make sure there is some space between them for proper air circulation. If your air fryer is on the smaller side, you may need to cook them in batches.
  6. Cook the chicken in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, turning them halfway through. Cooking times may vary based on the thickness of your chicken breasts and the specific model of your air fryer. To ensure they are fully cooked, use a meat thermometer and make sure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Once the chicken breasts are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing or serving. This helps the juices redistribute for juicier meat.
