Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp
Ingredients
For the shrimp:
- 1 pound raw shrimp (peeled, deveined, and tails removed)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
For the Bang Bang sauce:
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust for heat preference)
- 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp:
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
- In three separate bowls:
- Bowl 1: Add the flour.
- Bowl 2: Beat the eggs.
- Bowl 3: Mix panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the shrimp:
- Dredge each shrimp in flour, dip it in the beaten egg, and coat it in the seasoned panko mixture. Press lightly to adhere.
- Air fry the shrimp:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Place the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket (you may need to cook in batches). Lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Make the Bang Bang sauce:
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey (if using).
- Assemble:
- Toss the crispy shrimp in the sauce until evenly coated, or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds, and enjoy immediately!
