Air fryer Asparagus and Lemon Garlic Butter

SauceIngredients:1 bunch of fresh asparagus spears1-2 tablespoons olive oilSalt and pepper to tasteOptional: grated Parmesan cheese for garnishFor the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce:

2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:

1. Preheat the Air Fryer:

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes.
2. Prepare the Asparagus:

Wash the asparagus spears and trim the tough ends. You can snap them off by bending them, and they will naturally break at the right spot. Or, you can cut about 1-2 inches off the bottom.
3. Season the Asparagus:

Place the trimmed asparagus in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss to coat evenly.
4. Air Fry the Asparagus:

Place the seasoned asparagus in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to do this in batches.
Air fry for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the asparagus halfway through the cooking time. The asparagus should become tender and slightly crispy on the outside. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the asparagus, so keep an eye on it.
5. Prepare the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce:

While the asparagus is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low-medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute or two until the sauce slightly thickens.

6. Serve:

Once the asparagus is done cooking, transfer it to a serving platter.
Drizzle the lemon garlic butter sauce over the air-fried asparagus.
If desired, garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley.
