✅ Ingredients:
For the beef:
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the stir-fry:
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3–5 fresh red or green chilies, sliced (adjust to your heat tolerance)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced or grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce (for color, optional)
- ½ tsp sugar
- Optional: sliced green onions or fresh cilantro for garnish
🍳 Instructions:
1. Marinate the Beef:
- In a bowl, mix beef slices with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper.
- Let it marinate for at least 10–15 minutes while prepping other ingredients.
2. Prep Veggies:
- Slice onions, chilies, and mince garlic and ginger.
3. Stir-Fry the Beef:
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a hot wok or large skillet.
- Sear the marinated beef in batches (don’t overcrowd). Cook 2–3 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.
4. Cook Aromatics and Veggies:
- In the same pan, add another 1 tbsp oil.
- Stir-fry onion, garlic, ginger, and chilies over medium-high heat until onions are slightly soft and chilies fragrant (about 2–3 minutes).
5. Combine & Sauce:
- Return beef to the pan. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, dark soy (if using), and sugar.
- Toss everything together for 1–2 minutes until coated and glossy.
6. Serve:
- Garnish with green onions or cilantro if desired.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or with noodles.
